Named for Robert Bartlett (1875-1946), an Arctic explorer and navigator from Newfoundland, Canada. Bartlett won the National Geographic Society’s prestigious Hubbard Medal in 1909 for his efforts as part of Robert Peary’s expedition to the North Pole.

Please note: All Illuminated globes have an electrical cord to power the internal light bulb. The cord is hidden in the photo, but comes out of the south pole axis point.
