6" Levitating Moon Globe
Rotating Moon on Silver Base w/ Space Probe Model
A detailed model of the Earth's Moon that not only
floats but also rotates within its sleek silver electromagnetic stand.
This 6" Moon has been composed from the thousands of NASA satellite image
photos taken over the many years the space agency has surveyed the Moon.
Impact craters, "seas", and highlands that encompass the moons surface are
all clearly visible.
Detailed labeling on this globe indicates
Apollo manned landing sites as well as Russian and American unmanned
landing sites. Lunar maria and craters are also labeled. Also included
with the globe is a 6-page informational booklet with details, dates, and
specs of the Moon, planets, and their probes.
The globe levitates
underneath a realistic model of the Voyager 1 space probe used to gather
data on the moon in 1977. An electromagnetic field is controlled by a
built-in computer chip that automatically adjusts the field to atmospheric
changes ensuring the Moon stays suspended. Once the Moon is levitating
simply give it a slight spin to start the rotation, the electronic system
will register the rotation and keep it spinning until you stop it. A
unique and very interesting globe for anyone fascinated by astronomy,
space exploration, or the Apollo Moon missions.
