The Leerdam Vase 12" Desk Globe
Frank Lloyd Wright Collection Globes
|
In 1929 Frank Lloyd Wright created a variety of tableware designs
including china, stemware, serving pieces, candlesticks and vases for
the Leerdam Glassfabrik Company. Frank Lloyd Wright's series of
tableware designs were originally to be produced from metal, china, or
crystal. The complexity and uniqueness of these designs limited the
manufacture of the collection to producing only a handful of pieces
during this time. The Leerdam globe was adapted from a Frank Lloyd
Wright archival drawing of a vase he designed from this series. The the
solid wood hexagonal base features a two tone finish, from the light
wood finished stand extrudes a walnut column that supports the globe and
meridian.
A high quality Replogle 12" political globe with antique oceans rests in
a die-cast, calibrated full-circle meridian with antique brass finish.
Features over 4,000 place name labels and is made from 100% re-claimed
paperfiber. A classic Frank Lloyd Wright inspired design that makes an
excellent globe for the home or office.
