The 20" illuminated political world globe is finished by hand by skilled craftspeople using a traditional hand positioning method of laying on the paper map gores. This time intensive method requires experience and a steady hand, but results in the utmost quality globe. Offered in a choice of blue ocean or antique ocean, the world globe shows over 4500 place name labels.
The solid brass, hand engraved meridian has a built in touch controlled 3-way dimmer switch, offering 3 levels of brightness for the internal light. The light switch is operated by simply touching the meridian & eliminates the need for the switch on the cord commonly found on illuminated globes. The meridian and stand are designed to allow rotation of the meridian within the stand, enabling ease of exploration to the southern hemisphere.
