mechanism.
Solar powered rotation depends on light and the magnetic
energy of the earth to keep it spinning effortlessly. Advanced solar cells
embedded inside the globe provide power to its rotational drive even under
normal indoor light sources. The highly efficient drive mechanism
incorporates a magnetic element that reacts to the Earth's magnetic field in
a similar manner to a compass, providing torque to drive the globe.
