16" Floor Globe

A unique new globe design from National Geographic featuring beautifully
detailed cartography and elegant solid wood stand with distinctive woodwork
design. The large 16" raised relief globe ball rests in a die-cast, fully
calibrated gold toned metal meridian. The meridians mounting allows the
globe to be tilted in either direction within its stand. This solid wood
stand represents a finely crafted piece of furniture featuring walnut
finish, in-lay carvings on the legs, and a heavy wrought iron stretcher.
The 16" diameter globe ball features crisp classic parchment colored oceans
and utilizes National Geographic's world renowned cartography recognizable
from any of the maps featured in an issue of National Geographic Magazine.
Globe details include major place names, countries represented in
contrasting colors, and delineated U.S. states. Shaded relief provides
visual details of the ocean floor and mountain ranges. Raised relief
provides a better perspective of topographic features. The globe also
features a useful international time dial to assist in determining time
anywhere in the world.
