The National Geographic Byrd features a brand new globe illumination design
that utilizes 10 bright internal LED lights, simply turn or tap the globe
ball to activate the internal lighting. Lighting features auto shut-off.
This new method of illuminating the globe requires no unsightly electrical
cord as it makes use of four AA batteries (included). The sturdy design and
excellent value make this an ideal globe for the classroom. Also looks great
displayed in any home or office.
The 16" blue ocean raised relief
political globe sits mounted in a fully calibrated swing meridian, this
allows the globe to tilt a full 360° as well as spin. A
medium teak hardwood base with cherry finish supports the steel yoke and
die-cast meridian. Award winning National Geographic cartography features
crisp easy to read fonts with colorful shading consistent with their popular
maps.
Globe details include over 4,000 place names, countries
represented in contrasting colors, and delineated U.S. states. Political map
information is up-to-date. Raised relief helps distinguish topographic
features. Warm and cold ocean currents are also labeled, ocean depths are
represented with shading.
