The internal illumination adds another level of readability to the globe, and casts off a lovely glow in  a dim room. The meridian and stand are designed to allow rotation of the meridian ring within the stand, enabling full examination of places south of the equator.

The globe is offered in a choice of blue ocean or antique ocean, each with a politically current map. Purchase of globe also qualifies the buyer for the factory-direct globe update program. This enables one to purchase a replacement, updated globe when needed, at a reduced cost.

Please note:  All Illuminated globes have an electrical cord to power the internal light bulb.  The cord is hidden in the photo, but comes out of the south pole axis point.
