Map Physical/Political Globe
An expertly made 14" Illuminated globe from
Columbus Globes of Germany. The Lech am Arlberg is mounted in a fully
calibrated silver semi-meridian and rests on a solid beech wood base with
black lacquer finish. A stainless steel ring embedded into the base adds a
stylish modern touch to the globes appearance.
A most impressive feature of this globe is its detailed dual map
cartography. When the globe is illuminated a political maps displays
countries in contrasting colors. When turned off a detailed physical map
displays vegetation using deep brown hues to represent mountain ranges,
various green and yellow tones representing lush forests, grasslands, and
desserts. Landforms and ocean floor bathymetry are displayed with
photorealistic shaded relief.
