Coated paper gores over
plaster, brass time dial at North Pole. Oceans finished in olive green with
isothermal lines, ecliptic, analemma and tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. Cast
brass full ring meridian set into a full mount mahogany floor stand. Horizon
ring supported by conforming curved ferules raised on turned column and three
inswept legs above compass united with the legs by three turned stretchers.
Considerable paper loss to horizon ring scale and orb surface, a few extraneous
pencil markings. Compass needle and glass lacking. Shows Philippines as ceded to
U.S., Oklahoma and Indian Territory still united. Solid attractive stand with
restorable surfaces. Handsome.
