Dull paper gores over plaster. Without time dial. Mounted as a tellurium. Oceans finished in pea green with isothermal lines, ecliptic, ocean currents and elliptical analemma. Mounted on end of nickel plated gear case from heavy iron twelve sided base. Base decorated with seasons scale and figures of the zodiac in colors, some flaking and losses. Incomplete, lacking moon and sun and other attachments, gear train still functions. Complete telluria of this vintage are extremely rare. Restorable. Africa shows mid-19th Century boundaries, Dakota Territory not yet divided. Orb with some browning, otherwise good example of scarce size.
