Dull paper gores over hollow
steel, time dial at North Pole. White oval title escutcheon. Oceans finished in
olive green with Ecliptic, International Date Line, tropics of Cancer and
Capricorn, nautical distances and analemma. Axis pivoting from a beautiful
modernistic art cast iron table stand with offset bracket finished in light
green. Shows Leningrad but an independent Manchuria. Hammond globes are
particularly sought after for their elegant mountings intended for the smartest
decor. The globe as art object.
