Antique 6" Child's School Globe
SOLD Dull paper gores over paper mache. No time dial. Oceans finished in light blue with Meridian of Greenwich, Equinoctial Colure, Ecliptic and nautical routes with sailing distances in days. 70 days England to Cape of Good Hope, 8 days San Francisco to Honolulu. Bent wire stand without meridian. Has large analemma with note. Some place names and topography shown in U.S. but no state boundaries. More sturdy than American globes of this type but with imperfect register between gores. Probably either Bacon or Philip but with no title or place of national origin. Shows Congo Free State but with distinct Belgian influence. The region became the Belgian congo in 1908. ITEM# SOLD
