Library globe. Replogle Globes, Inc., 320 S. Franklin St. Chicago. c1931.
Coated paper gores over
pasteboard, time dial at North Pole. Oceans finished in parchment tan with
International Date Line, ecliptic, a few ocean distances and analemma. Axis
pivoting only from walnut hardwood moderne stand, offset bracket on round base.
Rather simplified land surfaces with relatively few place names. Manchuria not
yet annexed by the Japanese although Port Arthur has been and is called Dairen.
Scarce child’s globe that is neither handmade nor intended for a library. Rare
early coloring. Nice condition.
